The benefits of improving environmental and climate policies in partner countries are very high. Cleaner environment is a source of well-being for people. People also benefit from services delivered by ecosystems, for example water purification. Greener businesses and environmentally-friendly products, for example organic food, are an opportunity for creating new jobs, accessing new markets, and increasing revenue. The EU works together with the six Partner countries through programmes that promote green economy, protect water resources, make forest management more sustainable, or establish a shared network of protected areas. The EU has also promoted accountability of government action by establishing a Shared Environmental Information System. The EU also actively assists Partner countries to respond to climate change and make their economies more resilient while reducing emissions that impact the climate.
