Job definition

To serve as Communication Coordinator of the Delegation’s Cooperation Sections under the supervision of the Head of Cooperation, ensuring the communication and visibility of the EU Delegation to Egypt, in general, and, in particular, of EU financial assistance to Egypt.

Function and duties

 Communication and Visibility Plan

  • Draft and ensure monthly update of the Delegation’s Communication and Visibility Plan, and ensure the latter’s timely and due implementation.
  • Provide operational Programme Managers and project staff in charge of visibility and communication with periodic information, training and technical support related to the Communication and Visibility Plan.
  • Report on activities and results achieved in the framework of the implementation of the Communication and Visibility Plan.
  • Work in close coordination with the Delegation’s Press and Information Officer, the Communication cell of the Delegation,  the Heads of Sections of the Operations Section and operational Programme Managers.

Communication and Visibility Activities

  • Propose, plan, design, organize and implement specific outreach and communication activities, including visibility or launching events and the production and distribution of publications, newsletters and visibility or promotional materials, among others.
  • Under the supervision of the Head of Cooperation, draft, tender and manage specific visibility and communication-related contracts with external providers, including the review and approval of deliverables and reports as well as assessment of invoices and requests for payments. Give recommendations in conformity with the financial circuits for payments managed by the Delegation.
  • Coordinate and review the Operations Section’s contributions and periodical updates to the Delegation’s official website, social media platforms and other publications produced by the Delegation or by EU HQ.

Support and Coordinate

  • Provide operational Programme Managers and project staff in charge of visibility and communication with periodic information, training and technical support on the EU’s general guidelines and tools for the communication and visibility of EU external action and development aid.
  • Assist the drafting and review of the visibility and communication plans presented by specific EU-funded programs and projects, ensuring the former’s coherence with the Delegation’s own Communication and Visibility Plan and EU guidelines, and contribute to the formers’ proper design and implementation.
  • Assist staff of EU funded projects in designing and executing specific visibility and communication activities and events.
  • Create and regularly update a database and network composed of all staff of EU projects in Egypt in charge of visibility and communication, in order to facilitate the regular exchange of information, best practice and lessons learnt.

Visibility and Communication Archive and storage

  • Manage and regularly update the Delegation’s archive of general EU visibility and communication materials and of materials produced by EU-financed projects’.
  • Ensure the appropriate storage and timely use and distribution of available materials.

Liaison with EU HQ and other Stakeholders

  • Under the supervision of the Head of Cooperation, assume the task of focal and contact point with HQ related to the communication and visibility of EU financial assisatnce (“Communication Coordinator – ComCord”)
  • Under the supervision of the Head of Cooperation, contribute to ensure regular liaison with other donors and aid stakeholders as well as with Egyptian authorities in the area of communication and visibility of EU financial cooperation.
  • In close coordination with the Delegation’s Press and Information Officer, establish, and supply with relevant information, networks with media and other interested parties.
  • Contribute to the Delegation reporting tasks where required.

OTHER TASKS

  • To undertake other assignments that may be requested for the efficient functioning of the Delegation.
