TunisiaThe Union for the Mediterranean exchanges views on tourism as a generator of jobs for youth in the MENA Region
The Workshop on “Tourism: Generating jobs for Youth in the MENA Region” will take place on 4 December 2019 at the UfM Headquarters in Barcelona. The event is a follow up of the UfM Secretariat’s Brainstorming Meeting on Tourism, held on 30 November 2018 which aimed at setting up a regional platform for networks and experts on tourism in the region.
In the 2017 UfM Roadmap for Action, the importance of tourism was acknowledged and the Secretariat was assigned to use its role as a regional platform to coordinate and promote initiatives and concrete projects related to tourism within UfM activities.
The workshop shall mainly focus on the employment pillar and shall serve as a think tank to share knowledge, best practices, exchange views on regional policies, and formulate areas of cooperation that will provide the Region with specific recommendations in his area.
