As part of the regional EU-funded SwitchMed/MED TEST III project, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) is currently working with stakeholders from Tunisia’s textile and clothing industry to demonstrate practices that can lead to better chemical management in the production and develop a local value chain for recycling post-industrial textile waste.

On the 28 June, from 10:00-12:30, UNIDO will hold a seminar in Monastir to inform local businesses on the environmental aspects and economic benefits of sourcing textile fibres from post-industrial textile ‘waste.’

Together with international experts from Blumine, Reverse Resources, international brands and the Tunisian textile the Tunisian Textile and Clothing Federation (FTTH), UNIDO will present strategies, study results and two new pilot projects that until 2023 will demonstrate the potential for recycling post-industrial cutting and knit waste in Tunisia.
