In the scope of the programme “Enhancing women’s participation in decision-making and peace-building processes in Syria,” Legal Action Worldwide (LAW) and The EuroMed Feminist Initiative (EFI) held a conference on 26 and 27 October 2021 in Paris, France.

This conference served as a safe space for representatives of Syrian survivors’ organisations, as well as feminist and human rights activists to meet with organisations and activists from the Balkans, Bangladesh, and Europe to exchange and discuss lessons learned.

The aim for this conference was to strengthen:

– Strategic relationship building between Syrian survivor-led justice advocates, including individual survivors and groups, women rights organisations and civil society organisations.

– Cross-country networks of support and solidarity, particularly between conflict-affected communities.

– Partnership and peer-to-peer organising and information sharing on a local, national, and international stakeholders front specialized in survivor-led justice in Syria.

– Future events to expand participation and support for survivor-led justice work in Syria, including the creation of platforms, and follow-up conferences for thematic groups.

This conference was held with the support of the European Union.
