The EU Delegation to Tunisia launches the “Lina Ben Mhenni Prize for the Freedom of Expression”. This prize rewards the best article defending the principles and values of democracy, freedoms, and rights commonly shared by Tunisia and the EU.

This initiative mainly pays tribute to one of the most singular and free voices that Tunisia has witnessed in the previous years, an icon of the Tunisian revolution, the famous blogger and whistleblower, Lina Ben Mhenni. This initiative also supports the evolving Tunisian media landscape and is open to freethinkers, journalists, bloggers, influencers and other citizen activists working for free, independent and reliable information.

The best productions reinforcing these values and rights, namely the freedom of expression and social and economic rights, will be rewarded. The EUD to Tunisia will award the first winner the opportunity to take part in the EU Visitors Programme 2021 in Brussels and will offer presents to the two other winners.
