EU’s global peer-to-peer assistance hits a new milestone

The EU public sector expertise is in higher demand than ever before. This was the key message from the TAIEX Twinning Institution Building Days on 16-18 November 2021.

Flexibility and resilience made possible the expansion of the activities of the European Union institution building instruments TAIEX and Twinning even amidst the global pandemic. The same two characteristics were prominently at display in the annual Institution Building Days.

Designed for the first time in a hybrid format, the event was not only the largest gathering of its kind ever organised, but also the most diverse. With over 300 registered participants and over 500 viewers following the live stream from some 50 countries, the event brought together EU experts and representatives from all EU Member States, TAIEX and Twinning beneficiaries from all across the world including the enlargement and neighbourhood regions as well as 12 different Commission services.

As the TAIEX instrument celebrates its 25th anniversary, this event was also a moment to recognise its achievements
