The European Union has granted “Initiative Tunisie”, a network of seven associations for financing and accompanying entrepreneurs, a grant of €1.8 million – the total cost of the action is €2.4 million – to support entrepreneurs in the sustainable tourism, crafts and heritage sectors.

The project led by Initiative Tunisie complements the EU program “Tounes Wijhetouna” which is part of the policy of the Ministry of Tourism and Crafts for the diversification of tourism and support for the craft sector.

Thanks to this financial support, the associations of Initiative Tunisie network will finance and support 500 entrepreneurs over a period of 40 months. Committees of local business leaders and experts in entrepreneurship, will award loans of honour at rate 0 to the creators and buyers of businesses, setting out their action within the framework of the programme “Tunisia, our destination”. Support will be offered to each entrepreneur for several years, via regular follow-up or sponsorship with a volunteer.
