On 6 October, Brussels hosted the 22nd EU–Ukraine summit. This was the EU’s first face-to-face bilateral summit since the outbreak of the pandemic.

The summit agenda included a discussion between EU leaders and the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, on the joint commitments to bring Ukraine closer to the EU, as well as several key issues of bilateral relations:

  • the socio-economic impact of COVID-19 and the EU’s support to Ukraine;
  • the next steps in the implementation of the Association Agreement and the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement;
