EU supports information campaign in Georgia for World Environment Day

On 2 June, the EU and the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia launched the ‘Green Week’ campaign.

Run under the slogan ‘Together for better environment’, the campaign is dedicated to World Environment Day marked on 5 June and will run until 8 June. ‘Green Week’ aims to highlight the importance of the environment on everyone’s health and the key role people play on a daily basis in protecting it.

The campaign centres around 52 tips on protecting the environment, eco facts and information on how the EU supports environmental protection in Georgia. The campaign will run on national television, as well as on the Facebook page of the EU Delegation to Georgia. 

World Environment Day is the United Nations day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment. Since 1974, it has been celebrated every year on 5 June, engaging governments, businesses, celebrities and citizens to focus their efforts on a pressing environmental issues.
