On 15 October, Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No.4 received the first batch of oxygen concentrators, procured by the World Health Organization (WHO) with EU financing. WHO experts also held a demonstration on the safe use of the equipment.

Overall, WHO has donated over 100 oxygen concentrators to the Ukrainian authorities. They will be distributed to hospitals across the country.

“The delivery of oxygen concentrators is extremely important for oxygen support of COVID-19 patients who are being treated in our hospital,” said Heorhiy Aksiutin, deputy medical director of Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No.4.

The delivery of oxygen concentrators is part of the EU’s ‘Team Europe’ approach and ‘Solidarity for Health Initiative’ – a joint project of the WHO Regional Office for Europe and the EU to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic in Ukraine.
