Research and innovation are vital to increasing productivity, improving competitiveness, boosting smart and sustainable economic growth and creating knowledge-based jobs. The EU promotes this through the EU4Innovation Initiative. The initiative aims at the integration of Eastern Partnership and EU research and innovation systems, with the objective of: aligning Eastern Partnership and EU research programmes mainly through: the association process; funding research and innovation on a competitive basis; fostering research-industry partnerships; and enhancing the employment and career prospects of researchers.
These objectives are underpinned by substantial EU financial support and cooperation programmes and projects fostering innovation, research and development in the Eastern Partnership countries, including Horizon 2020 (soon to become Horizon Europe), the largest EU Research and Innovation programme ever. You will find an overview of the programmes and actions under EU4Innovation in section “Featured Projects”. The section on “Funding Opportunities” provides information on current EU funding and cooperation opportunities of interest for a variety of stakeholder in the R&I field under EU4Innovation and beyond.
